Studio M Interior Design partnered with Edwards & Cohen to design a sleek, modern interior office design with a sophisticated color palette, luxurious finishes, and textures. The interior design of this law office creates an excellent backdrop for the client’s art collection.
When my previous design client and friend approached me about moving his offices to a new building I was excited to join the team. They selected a space located on the 13th floor of the BB&T building located in downtown Jacksonville with a spectacular view of the St. Johns River. Upon entering the space we wanted to set the tone by providing immediate impact. We designed the custom reception desk to incorporate walnut detail that serves as the leg and countertop of the desk then travels across the ceiling providing not only a beautiful feature but a natural stop point for an elegant tile wall. A lighting feature just grazes the wall to bring out the texture of the tile. We used a wood slatted ceiling to provide acoustical properties while also reinforcing the walnut wall and desk detail. A simple sheer drape provides relief from glare on bright sunny days. We also located their large conference room on the river with a law library adjacent to it. The partners have an impressive art collection that we featured throughout the office. My approach was to create areas that would showcase specific pieces. We carefully selected finishes that would enhance the artwork and placed lighting to highlight important pieces. Creating the art plan for this office took almost as much time as planning the offices themselves and the result is a curated gallery like feel. The space was designed so that everyone visiting or working had a wonderful view. Our clients loved the end result and so do we!
